Steven Taylor

In memoriam

Before creating EKON, Steven was responsible for setting up the Pöyry Management Consulting (now AFRY) practice in Madrid. He was Head of the Iberian practice from 2005 until the beginning of 2011. During 2011, Steven continued to work for Pöyry as an associate consultant.

Afterwards, EKON started to take off. Steven specialised in M&A transaction support services with a strong focus on renewables and CCGTs as well as carrying out expert witness work for arbitration cases (gas and electricity) having presented expert witness testimony in arbitration cases internationally. He worked on at least 25 long-term LNG/pipe Gas Supply Agreement (GSA) reopeners in Spain, assisted lawyers in preparing the statement of claims, and prepared numerous expert witness reports.

Before Pöyry, he'd been Director for Business Development for Dong Spain (later acquired by E.ON) as well as having been the Head of the Electricity, Gas and Trading division. Prior to this, he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers as a strategy consultant specialising in the energy industry for 6 years.

Steven had a British passport but had lived in Spain most of his life. He studied at Runnymede College in Madrid and got a BSc Honours Degree in Biology and Chemistry from Bedfordshire University in the UK. He also completed an MBA at the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid. Steven was bilingual English and Spanish and also spoke French. But his real skill was to listen... not that he always did as he was told!

He passed away following a paragliding accident in the Spanish Pyrenees on 22 September 2022. He was 50 years old.
